Uses Medicinally:
Indigenous cultures of North America historically consumed the starchy stems to make breads and soups. The young shoots are also edible, either raw or boiled and are similar to asparagus. Its name comes from a formation that occurs on the stems in the fall, which resembles the ancient seal of King Solomon. It can turned into an extract, blended into herbal formulations, or brewed as a tea.
