Uses Medicinally:
Licorice, sometimes spelled liquorice, is a common ingredient to sweeten herbal tea blends and as a flavoring agent in candy. It has been an important herb in Eastern and Western traditions of herbalism for thousands of years, used primarily for gastrointestinal complaints, nausea, indigestion, and ulcerative/h. pylori complaints. The root is usually decocted as a tea and infused as an extract, though capsule form can also be used. It is also found in blends used to soothe sore throats and cough for upper respiratory ailments.
